As current director for the Deaf Ministries Department, I want to encourage you to read with new eyes and be moved with new zeal to reach those who are physically "hard-of-hearing", profoundly "Deaf" and those who are spiritually "deaf" or "blind" to see Christ.

Having a Deaf ministry is a terrific addition to your local church, and it gives churches an opportunity to serve the Deaf community in your area. Most hearing people are not aware of the importance to have fellowship with a deaf person.  Many times it is unintentional. As hearing people, we fail to recognize the need the deaf have for accessibility.  To learn more on how to get involved, take a moment to read the article by clicking on one of the links below:

Kevin Maki
Director of Deaf Ministries

Kevin Maki has served in leadership positions with Baptist Church Planters, pastor of Deaf Baptist Church of San Jose, CA and interim Pastor of MHBC of the deaf in Denver, CO. Brother Maki has a very good education and a vast amount of experience in working with the Deaf. He has a real heart and vision for the Deaf. He understands Deaf culture, knows what it takes to train people to minister to the Deaf, and also to train the Deaf for ministry. Kevin’s wife, Kenyata, recently gave birth to their eleventh child.

The Maki family will continue to live in Colorado as he continues to assist the Deaf through a pastoral transition on that field. Under the umbrella of IPM, Brother Maki will continue in full-time global Deaf ministry which includes deaf camps, church ministry, schools, and work among orphans. Will you commit to praying for Brother Maki and his family and asking the Lord if He would have you help financially as well? Should the Lord burden you to support the Maki family in this new world-wide ministry to which God has called them, you may do so by sending checks payable to "IPM"  and designated for "Maki Support". You may also contribute online via credit card by
clicking here. Those who are already supporting the Maki family may continue to do so by directing support through IPM. If you wish to receive Kevin's prayer letters, please contact IPM at ipm@ipmworld.org and request Kevin's prayer letters.
