MISSIONARY ADOPTION PROGRAM

The national missionaries IPM presents to you for adoption through MAP are missionaries who cannot, for one reason or another, come to the United States to do personal deputation.

MAP is a link between you and a needy national missionary.

Many local churches would like to give on a monthly basis to a national missionary in Asia, Africa, or Latin America. Sunday school classes, youth groups, children’s Bible clubs, or Christian families might also consider “adopting” a national missionary.

The problem is that many churches, groups, and individuals who want to adopt a national missionary do not know how to make the initial contact. They have questions such as: Does this missionary really need financial support from abroad? How can I be sure that my support funds are being used wisely? Is the national missionary accountable for the use of his support funds? Is anything being accomplished in his ministry?

International Partnership Ministries, Inc. (IPM), can take the guesswork out of choosing a national missionary or ministry to adopt. The leaders of IPM take up to several years to get to know the missionaries being presented to you through the MAP program. The backgrounds of these men and ministries have been thoroughly researched. IPM requires financial and ministry accountability of each national missionary and ministry. Except in countries closed to American visitors, these men and ministries have been visited by IPM leaders. We present them to you for adoption without reservation. Please pray for God’s direction as you consider what part you might have in helping an outstanding national missionary who is faithfully serving God with very little financial backing. Your assistance can make a great difference.
You may be aware of the fact that IPM brings selected national leaders to the USA from time to time to introduce them and their ministries to local churches. Men like Dr. P. D. Cherian from India, Sergio Herrera from Mexico, and Dr. Seth Mohenu from Ghana have been to the States in recent years to raise support for their respective ministries. These men are not part of MAP.

The national missionaries IPM presents to you for adoption through MAP are missionaries who cannot, for one reason or another, come to the States to do personal deputation. First, It would be extremely unwise for us to bring all of our national leaders to the States. In some cases the monthly support need does not warrant the expenditure of $1,500 or more to visit the States. Sometimes language is a problem; not all of these missionaries can communicate well in English. Finally, some of these men would have difficulty obtaining a visa to visit the USA.

MAP is simply a tool to present to you some outstanding national missionaries and ministries that need your help. Your monthly gift will make it possible for many to hear the gospel message from a missionary who knows the language and culture of his people and has a burden to win the lost to Christ. The average basic support need is $600/month; total ministry budgets vary per missionary. Will you consider adopting a national missionary for $25, $35, $50 or more per month? The blessing will be yours. Adopt today! The MAP program will help you through the adoption process.

Please contact the IPM office by letter, fax, phone, or e-mail to request information about one or more of the MAP missionaries. Color photos of the missionaries are available.
