DOCTRINAL STATEMENT 1. We believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the verbally inspired Word of God, inerrant in the original languages and the supreme and final authority in faith and life (II Peter 1:20, 21; II Timothy 3:16, 17). 2. We believe in one God, eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Deut. 6:4; II Cor. 13:14). 3. We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten of the Holy Spirit; born of the Virgin Mary; lived among men; suffered, bled and died; was buried; raised from the dead; ascended to the right hand of the Father; intercedes for us; and is true God and true man (Luke 1:35; Luke 2:6, 7, 52; Matthew 27:29, 30, 35, 50; Luke 23:50-56; Acts 2:24, 33; I John 2:1; John 10:30; I John 4:2, 3). 4. We believe in the deity of the Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Trinity (Acts 5:3, 4; John 14:16, 17; John 16:13). 5. We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God; that he sinned and thereby incurred both physical and spiritual death; that all human beings are born with a sinful nature and are sinners in thought, word and deed (Genesis 1:26, 27; Romans 3:22, 23; Romans 5:12; Ephesians 2:1-3). 6. We believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins, according to the Scriptures, as our representative and substitutionary sacrifice; and that all who believe on Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood (I Cor. 5:3, I Peter 3:18; Romans 3:24-26). 7. We believe that all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ are born again of the Holy Spirit, and thereby become children of God; that they are indwelt and sealed by the Holy Spirit and are secure in Him until the day of redemption (John 1:12; John 3:5; Ephesians 1:13). 8. We believe that the Church is composed of all believers; that we are baptized by the Holy Spirit into His body, thus being members of one another. We believe in the establishment of independent local churches; that the local church is God's institution commissioned with the responsibility of world evangelization (Ephesians 1:22, 23; I Cor. 12:12, 13; Acts 13 & 14). 9. We believe that Jesus Christ instituted the Lord's Supper to commemorate His death until He comes. We believe that water baptism is an ordained testimony portraying our identification with Christ. We believe in believer's baptism by immersion (I Cor. 11:23-26; Matthew 28:19, 20; Romans 6:3, 4). 10. We believe in "that blessed hope", the personal, imminent, pretribulational, premillennial coming of the Lord into the air for His saints. We believe in the personal, visible and glorious return of Christ to the earth with His saints. We believe in the establishment of Christ's kingdom upon the earth (Titus 2:13; I Thes. 4:13-17; Rev. 19:11-16; Rev. 11-15). 11. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust; the everlasting blessedness of the saved and the everlasting punishment of the lost (John 5:28, 29; John 14:1-3; Rev. 20:11-15). 12. We believe in the personality of Satan; that he is the god of this age, the adversary of Christ and His Church, and that his destiny is eternal punishment (Job 1:6, 7; II Cor. 4:4; I Peter 5:8; Rev. 20:10).
POSITION STATEMENT International Partnership Ministries, Inc., cannot have any affiliation or association with the following movements, which the corporation recognizes as out of harmony with the Word of God: 1. The modern Ecumenical Movement, with such advocates as the National Council of Churches and the World Council of Churches. 2. The Neo-Evangelical Movement, characterized by cooperation and dialogue with theological liberalism, involvement in ecumenical evangelism, and a general disdain for biblical separation. 3. The so-called Charismatic Movement, characterized by a strong emphasis on experience, a so-called "baptism in the Holy Spirit", and "speaking in tongues".
PURPOSE STATEMENT International Partnership Ministries, Inc., is an independent, fundamental missionary organization whose four-fold purpose is: 1. To promote the concept of "partnership" between missions and churches in the United States and indigenous national missions and churches outside the United States as an important aspect of the Church's obedience to Christ's Great Commission. 2. To function as a missionary-sending agency for missionaries who are nationals of other countries as well as for selected American missionaries interested in serving under the leadership of indigenous national ministries affiliated with the corporation. 3. To encourage and strengthen national ministries involved in evangelism, church planting, Bible institutes and colleges, youth work, medical clinics, and other related ministries, by means of the procurement of finances and the provision of needed equipment and technical support. 4. To make it possible for pastors and laypersons to travel to missions fields outside of the United States to see the needs, preach and teach in conferences, and assist with work projects. |
